The Lorraine I-SITE has therefore chosen to move beyond disciplinary specialization and structure its strategy around six <strong>societal challenges<\/strong>. This orientation makes it possible to mobilize the site\u2019s areas of excellence while fully integrating the social sciences and humanities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Several schemes work together to bring this vision to life: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong><mark style=\"background-color:var(--unys-1-30)\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Interdisciplinary Programs (IP)<\/mark><\/strong>, guided by a programmatic vision and integrating education and innovation, <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><mark style=\"background-color:var(--unys-2-10)\" class=\"has-inline-color\"><strong>IMPACT Projects<\/strong><\/mark>, which explore and prepare new topics, <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><mark style=\"background-color:var(--unys-3-30)\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Centers of Expertise and Transversal Research (CRET)<\/mark><\/strong>, which provide cross-cutting expertise (notably in AI and SSH). These schemes structure open, long-standing research communities with an international outlook.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Interdisciplinarity is also deployed in <strong>education<\/strong> (new tracks and master\u2019s programs linked to the programs), in <strong>innovation<\/strong> (through student entrepreneurship and the POLARIS University Innovation Cluster), and in <strong>science outreach<\/strong> (SAPS label, citizen science). It also contributes to <strong>regional development<\/strong>, bringing together researchers, economic stakeholders, institutions, and citizens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This approach lies at the heart of a long-term project: building a model of <strong>global engineering for the planet<\/strong>, combining science, technology, the humanities, and society to strengthen societies\u2019 capacity for action and resilience in the face of societal challenges. Interdisciplinarity thus becomes a true hallmark of the Lorraine site, supported by collective governance and strong financial commitment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"gb-headline gb-headline-32c8e986
