Biography
Research director at CNRS, Elsa Cortijo is Director of Fundamental Research at CEA since the end of 2019.
The first part of her research career was devoted to the study of past climates, in particular the rapid climatic events of the last 150,000 years using isotopic geochemistry of biogenic carbonates. She has published more than 60 papers in international journals.
Elsa Cortijo has held various national and international scientific responsibilities and was director of the Laboratory of Climate and Environmental Sciences. In parallel to her scientific and managerial activities, she also participates in numerous steering committees and working groups in different administrations and research bodies.
