Manuel Tunon de Lara was President of the CPU (Conference of University Presidents) from December 17, 2020 to December 15, 2022.

Manuel Tunon de Lara was also President of the University of Bordeaux (2014-2022) and was President of the University of Bordeaux-Segalen for six years (2008-2014).

A specialist in the field of asthma and allergies, he is developing an important research activity on the mechanisms of bronchial hyperreactivity.
