Le dispositif ORION Master Grants offre des bourses aux \u00e9tudiant\u00b7es internationaux en Master 2 pour r\u00e9aliser un stage de recherche dans les laboratoires du site lorrain, avec le soutien du programme&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.univ-lorraine.fr\/welcome\/en\/home\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Welcome@Lorraine<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>English version below<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"gb-container gb-container-6258b436\">\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Factuel : Quel est votre objectif et comment votre parcours et vos motivations vous y conduisent-ils ?<\/h3>\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Actuellement, je suis en Master DENSYS en Erasmus (Erasmus Mundus Joint Master\u2019s Degree in Decentralized Smart Energy Systems). J\u2019ai choisi ce cursus pour son interdisciplinarit\u00e9 et son partage d\u2019exp\u00e9riences acad\u00e9miques personnalis\u00e9es et internationales entre la France, la Belgique et la Su\u00e8de. De plus, cela correspond \u00e0 ma vision de carri\u00e8re. Je consid\u00e8re mes \u00e9tudes comme un outil \u00e0 multiples facettes qui joue un r\u00f4le extr\u00eamement important dans la r\u00e9alisation de ma vision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>J\u2019aspire \u00e0 d\u00e9velopper des solutions innovantes et r\u00e9alisables pour r\u00e9duire la pauvret\u00e9 \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique \u00e0 travers le monde et assurer la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 et l\u2019accessibilit\u00e9 de l\u2019\u00e9nergie pour les communaut\u00e9s \u00e9loign\u00e9es.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Je crois en une consommation et un d\u00e9veloppement durables et je travaille donc pour un avenir neutre en carbone. Je vois la n\u00e9cessit\u00e9 d\u2019une \u00e9nergie durable dans le monde et je crois en l\u2019\u00e9quit\u00e9, m\u00eame pour les r\u00e9gions du monde en d\u00e9veloppement et sous-d\u00e9velopp\u00e9es. Je pense que cela doit aller bien au-del\u00e0 de la simple application de connaissances et d\u2019expertise, mais aussi inculquer des valeurs justes et un \u00e9tat d\u2019esprit altruiste.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Factuel : Comment avez-vous d\u00e9couvert ORION ? Et en quoi la bourse ORION Master Grants vous aide-t-elle ?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>J\u2019ai \u00e9t\u00e9 inform\u00e9 du programme ORION par le Dr Fabrice Lemoine, directeur de programme du Master DENSYS. J\u2019ai contact\u00e9 ORION et, par la suite, j\u2019ai fait partie du club Mat &amp; Met, du club METHY et de diverses autres activit\u00e9s ORION. C\u2019est gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 leurs \u00e9v\u00e9nements et aux responsables des clubs que j\u2019ai \u00e9t\u00e9 davantage sensibilis\u00e9 \u00e0 cette opportunit\u00e9 de financement pour mon stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La bourse ORION Master Grants a encourag\u00e9 la collaboration entre l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de Lorraine et le KTH Royal Institute of Technology de Stockholm. J\u2019ai eu la chance d\u2019avoir deux groupes de superviseurs, le Dr Thierry Boileau et le Dr Benjamin Remy de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de Lorraine, ainsi que le Dr Justin Chiu et le Dr Anders Malmquist du KTH Royal Institute of Technology de Stockholm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Les r\u00e9unions avec les superviseurs du KTH m\u2019ont aid\u00e9 \u00e0 concr\u00e9tiser mon projet. Elles m\u2019ont aussi aid\u00e9 \u00e0 aborder les questions de durabilit\u00e9 et de mise en \u0153uvre pratique du syst\u00e8me th\u00e9oris\u00e9. Mes superviseurs de l\u2019UL, quant \u00e0 eux, m\u2019ont guid\u00e9 au quotidien face aux difficult\u00e9s de la mod\u00e9lisation du syst\u00e8me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Factuel : Quelle est la diff\u00e9rence entre votre universit\u00e9 d\u2019origine et celle de France ? Et comment se passe votre s\u00e9jour en France, hors vie \u00e9tudiante ?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Comparer ces deux universit\u00e9s est une t\u00e2che difficile. Je dirais que j\u2019ai appris \u00e0 appr\u00e9cier et \u00e0 respecter davantage le syst\u00e8me \u00e9ducatif indien apr\u00e8s avoir suivi ce Master. Le syst\u00e8me \u00e9ducatif fran\u00e7ais a un rythme plus rapide, mais aussi plus d\u00e9tendu, et les \u00e9tudes orient\u00e9es vers la recherche semblent plus focalis\u00e9es sur les sujets abord\u00e9s. En revanche, le syst\u00e8me indien offre une vision et une compr\u00e9hension plus larges, bien que le parcours d\u2019\u00e9tude y soit plus stressant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mon s\u00e9jour en France, plus pr\u00e9cis\u00e9ment \u00e0 Nancy, restera une exp\u00e9rience que je ch\u00e9rirai. C\u2019est ici que j\u2019ai d\u00e9couvert le printemps pour la premi\u00e8re fois. \u00c0 mon arriv\u00e9e, les arbres paraissaient morts, mais en quelques mois, des couleurs et des fleurs ont \u00e9merg\u00e9, cr\u00e9ant une transformation bouleversante. Ce spectacle, pourtant banal pour les gens d\u2019ici, restera grav\u00e9 dans mes souvenirs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.univ-lorraine.fr\/osezlarecherche\/les-dispositifs-orion\/international\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">D\u00e9couvrez le Master Grants ORION<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Factuel: What is your goal, and how have your background and motivations led you to it?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The degree I am presently doing is an Erasmus Mundus Joint Master\u2019s Degree on Decentralized Smart Energy Systems (DENSYS).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I picked this program because of its highly interdisciplinary nature and wonderful combination of personalized and international academic experiences between France, Belgium, &amp; Sweden. More importantly, it aligned with my career vision. As the program name mentions, I yearned to pursue research in decentralized energy systems. I see my studies as a multifaceted tool that is extremely instrumental in helping achieve the vision I have.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I aspire to develop innovative and feasible solutions or mechanisms to alleviate energy poverty throughout the globe and to ensure energy security and accessibility for remote communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I believe in sustainable consumption and development in this world and therefore work towards a carbon neutral future. I see the need for sustainable energy in the world, and believe in equality of opportunities for even developing and under-developed parts of the world. I think it has much more to do than a mere application of knowledge &amp; expertise but also in inculcating righteous values and an altruistic mindset.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Factuel: How did you come to know about ORION and in which ways does the ORION Master Grants help you?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>I initially was made aware of the ORION program by Dr. Fabrice Lemoine, program chair for DENSYS. I later on took initiative to connect &amp; be part of the Mat&amp;Met club, METHY club and various other ORION activities. It was through their events and the club in charges too that I was made a little more aware of this funding opportunity for my internship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The ORION Master Grants has encouraged international research collaboration on the project between University of Lorraine (UL) and KTH Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), Stockholm. I was fortunate to have two sets of supervisors, Dr. Thierry Boileau &amp; Dr. Benjamin Remy from UL and Dr. Justin Chiu &amp; Dr. Anders Malmquist from KTH. Especially in my project, the meetings with KTH supervisors helped really ground the project in reality and helped address questions about sustainability and the practical implementation of the theorized system, while my UL supervisors helped guide me on a more frequent day-to-day basis with regard to the struggles of the system modeling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Factuel: What\u2019s the difference between your university and the university in France? And how your stay in France is going, apart from student life ?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Comparing between the universities is really a hard thing. I would say that I learned to appreciate and respect the Indian education system a lot more after being in this Masters program. The French education system seems a lot more fast-paced and relaxed at the same time, and the study seems to have a more narrowed, research-oriented focus on the subjects tackled. Whereas the Indian system provides a wider focus, holistic understanding too, albeit, steadily stressful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My stay in France, more precisely, Nancy, has been quite a pleasurable one and something I hold close to my heart. It was here that I discovered spring for the first time. When I arrived, the trees seemed dead, but within a few months, colors and flowers emerged, creating an overwhelming transformation.
