In France, Assurance Maladie<\/em> (Health Insurance aka Social Security) doesn’t reimburse all your healthcare costs. Complementary (or mutual) health insurance covers the remaining costs to be met by the policy holder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In order to benefit from optimal<\/strong> reimbursement of your healthcare costs, you can take out complementary<\/strong> or mutual heath insurance<\/strong>. It isn’t mandatory <\/strong>but it’s strongly recommended<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n

Reimbursements vary depending on contract and type of complementary health insurance chosen. They reimburse part or all of the costs not covered by Assurance Maladie<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n
