usual country of residence.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A <strong>residence permit<\/strong> \n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>gives you the right to<strong> stay in France?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>IMPORTANT<\/strong>: Be carreful to <strong>arrive <\/strong>in France<strong> with the correct visa<\/strong> (<strong>motive <\/strong>and <strong>duration<\/strong> of your stay).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-pb-accordion-item c-accordion__item js-accordion-item no-js\" data-initially-open=\"false\" data-click-to-close=\"true\" data-auto-close=\"true\" data-scroll=\"false\" data-scroll-offset=\"0\"><h3 id=\"at-27070\" class=\"c-accordion__title js-accordion-controller\" role=\"button\">You must European Union State ;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>and <\/strong>you are enrolled in a <strong>mobility program <\/strong>(such as Erasmus+, Erasmus Mundus,&#8230;). <strong>In that case<\/strong>, you VLS-TS)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.univ-lorraine.fr\/welcome\/en\/residence-permits-for-students\/\"><strong>apply for a residence permit<\/strong> if you have<\/a>:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>a temporary long-stay visa (Visa Long S\u00e9jour Temporaire &#8211; VLS-T) with the <strong>reference<\/strong> \u00ab\u00a0Residence permit to request upon arrival in France\u00a0\u00bb (Carte de s\u00e9jour \u00e0 solliciter \u00e0 l&rsquo;arriv\u00e9e en France)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>a short-term \u00ab\u00a0<strong>competitive exam<\/strong>\u00a0\u00bb (Concours) visa<strong> <\/strong>and <strong>you have passed the exam for which <\/strong>the visa was delivered to you<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>a long-stay \u00ab\u00a0<strong>school-going minor<\/strong>\u00a0\u00bb visa (Mineur scolartis\u00e9) and <strong>you are 18 years old<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-base-3-background-color has-background is-vertical is-layout-flex wp-container-core-group-is-layout-4fc3f8e1 wp-block-group-is-layout-flex\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>WATCH OUT<\/strong>!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The \u00ab\u00a0student\u00a0\u00bb\u00a0<strong>temporary long stay visa\u00a0<\/strong>(aka\u00a0<strong>VLS-T<\/strong>)<strong>\u00a0with the reference \u00ab\u00a0temporary exemption<\/strong> <strong>from the residence permit requirement\u00a0\u00bb<\/strong> (dispense temporaire de titre de s\u00e9jour) enables you to stay in France<strong>\u00a0from 4 to 6 months <\/strong><em><strong>maximum<\/strong>\u00a0<\/em>in order to attend a short course. It acts as temporary authorization to stay in France. So you do not need to request a residence permit as long as the visa is valid. <strong>When <\/strong>this type of visa <strong>expires<\/strong>, <strong>you must return to your country of residence<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>It is <strong>very important <\/strong>to arrive with the <strong>appropriate <\/strong>visa, as once you are in France, you will not be able to request:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>modification of the <strong>motive<\/strong> on your visa.
