Equality-Diversity-Inclusion Units (EDI units)

EDI Units are equality-diversity-inclusion contact points within each academic unit. They are organized groups of staff and students who meet to support the institution’s fight against all forms of gender-based and sexual violence and discrimination. Their goal is to maintain a respectful environment and foster a culture of mutual respect within the university. EDI Units focus on three main objectives:

  • Identifying situations of sexual harassment and discrimination;
  • Knowing how to react, report, and refer when witnessing or experiencing such actions;
  • Being able to discuss and raise awareness within one’s community.

EDI Communities

To stay informed about the university’s latest news on equality, diversity and inclusion, several networks are available to you, whether you are a student, a staff member, or a partner.

For staff

Since 2014, the University of Lorraine has maintained a mailing list called EDI-pers. This list aims to connect staff members who wish to share information on equality, diversity and inclusion topics, and to foster synergies within the institution.

To join this mailing list, please contact Yves Cardellini, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Delegate.

For students

Created in 2020, the EDI-etu mailing list is intended for students. It brings together those who want to engage in equality, diversity and inclusion initiatives. The list is managed by the EDI project officer, who coordinates the group. Its aim is not only to share information, but also to launch EDI projects and support students (directly or indirectly, for example through referrals).

For partners

The EDI community seeks to share information, exchange ideas, and build connections between academics and socio-economic partners with expertise in EDI. This community is coordinated by the Vice President for Equality, Diversity and Inclusion and the EDI Delegate.
