SYSTEMIC Club

A club that broadens perspectives on ecology and microbiology.

Offers students scientific exposure to the research activities of researchers and doctoral candidates in the fields of ecology and microbiology in order to:

  • Grasp the concept of the environment and ecosystems
  • Understand the role of microbiomes in ecosystems
  • Study these microbiomes across different scientific domains

Join us!

Club activities:

  • Visits to laboratories and platforms of the A2F science hub
  • Attendance at seminars, conferences, HDR (habilitation) presentations, and thesis defenses within laboratories of the LECOMIC network (Lorraine Microbial Ecology)
  • Participation in site visits (anaerobic digestion platform, forest plots, aquarium, wastewater treatment plants, …)
  • Discussion and exchange through informal science socials and games
  • Participation in research projects (conducting experiments, data analysis, field sampling, literature reviews)

Practical information

  • Student engagement: active participation in club life; contribution to group projects (e.g., data analysis)
  • Supporting laboratories: IAM, LIBio, Lae, SILVA, DYNAMIC, UR AFPA, LIEC, LCPME (A2F hub platform)
  • Regular steering meetings every two weeks (may vary depending on projects; venue: FST classroom)
  • Additional meetings as needed
