Aid (CAF)
PLEASE NOTE:
From 1 July 2026, only foreign students who are:
- nationals of a country belonging to the European Union (EU) or the European Economic Area (EEA) or Switzerland
- OR non-EU nationals only if they are recipients of a French social scholarship
will remain eligible for CAF personalised housing assistance (APL)
International students who do not fall into either of these two categories will no longer be eligible for housing assistance.
For those who remain eligible for housing assistance (APL):
To help you pay your rent, you can apply for housing assistance provided by the CAF. However, this financial support is granted based on your financial ressources and family situation.
To request housing assistance
- You must have a rental agreement and pay rent
- Citizens of countries outside the European Union (EU) must have a valid residence permit:
- long-stay visa valid as a residence permit (VLS-TS) and certificate confirming validation of the VLS-TS
- or residence card (while waiting for the residence card and only in the event of a request for its renewal: Certificate of Prolongation of Residence Permit (ADP) or Residence Permit receipt
- Citizens of EU countries must have a national identity card or a valid passport
- Birth certificate
