A residence permit gives you the right to stay in France. It’s delivered by the Prefecture in your place of residence in France.
To find accommodation, you can use the list of temporary accommodation in Nancy and Metz. You can also go by way of a real-estate agency.
The Euraxess centers of the University of Lorraine can assist you in all stages of your stay in Lorraine: formalities for entering and staying in France, help with finding accommodation, enrolling for health cover, opening a bank account, information about your children’s schooling and all aspects of daily life.
If you are coming to France with your family (spouse and/or children), you will have to carry out the procedures required to organize childcare and/or schooling for your minor child(ren). Depending on your child(ren)’s age, you will find practical information to guide you through the steps you will need to take in France.
