To open a bank account, you can contact the bank of your choice.
Opening a bank account is essential if you are on a long stay in France. It enables you to receive your salary, reimbursements for healthcare expenses from the French Health Insurance, or social assistance payments from the CAF (Family Allowances Fund).
You may also need a French IBAN for paying your income taxes if you receive a taxable salary or scholarship and are a resident of France.
