Doctor Honoris Causa, to reward international scientific excellence
Created in 1918, the title of Doctor Honoris Causa is one of the most prestigious distinctions awarded by French universities to honor “professors of foreign nationality for eminent services rendered to science, literature or the arts, to France or to Université de Lorraine.
Since 2012, Université de Lorraine has honored these professors every year by awarding them the insignia of Doctor Honoris Causa during a solemn ceremony to pay tribute to the excellence of scientific relations with the University and internationally.
