This series of photos was produced during the 2nd edition of L’Automne du Handicap (12/10 – 03/12/2021). It shines the spotlight on five students with disabilities who also happen to be elite athletes.
The photos were taken by Clémence Brach, a compassionate photographer as she likes to describe herself. She pays close attention to her subject’s environment, which comes across in the composition of her photos.
The five elite student athletes are:

- Selected 2 times in French Team (2018), 3rd individually at the French championships 2019.
- Goal : Paralympic Games Paris 2024
- Master’s degree student in History

Romain Lachenal, athletics: 1500m (2/2)
- Finalist of French championships 2021
- Goal : Paralympic Games Paris 2024
- 2021 graduated of the STAPS bachelor’s degree

Ludwig Brouillard, boccia, grade CB2 (2/2)
- Selected 2 times in French Team (2018), 3rd individually at the French championships 2019.
- Goal : Paralympic Games Paris 2024
- Master’s degree student in History

Apolline Mongin, aviron (2/2)
- Adapted sports French Team;
- French champion on ergometer in 2000m and 500m
- Goal: to have the high level Autism category validated in international competitions
- Student in STAPS bachelor’s degree
