Collaboration with businesses

In Lorraine, the unique quality of the ties between academic research and businesses, strong multidisciplinarity and capacity of integration between science and technology have paved the way to a close connection between “basic” , “targeted” and “applied” research and to such research being associated with an innovation support policy for the benefit of all businesses.

Université de Lorraine strives to forge partnerships with businesses and to promote all outputs of its laboratories’ research via the most suitable methods. In that respect, it has rolled out schemes for supporting commercialisation & knowledge transfer by:

  • Developing partnerships with businesses through research projects, chairs and joint laboratories;
  • Promoting the outputs of Université de Lorraine research and enabling technology transfer;
  • Supporting new business formation with the Incubateur Lorrain.

RESEARCH GEARED TOWARDS BUSINESSES: plug in labs lorraine

One of the ambitions of the I-SITE LUE project is to develop research infrastructures and bring them together in a network through the Infra+ programme. This programme has given rise to Plug In Labs Lorraine. Accessible for free, this platform presents the offering of the Lorraine site’s research platforms and laboratories in terms of research, scientific and technological expertise, equipment, technologies (patents, software) and engineering. It currently lists 60 laboratories and more than 100 technology platforms.

Juggle would not exist without Université de Lorraine! Our company benefited not only from second-to-none support within the University’s schemes, but also from its financial investment and scientific and technical assistance regarding the product’s development. Today, it’s our turn to invest in research thanks to the funding of a thesis based on an industrial agreement for training through research (CIFRE).
