Social support

Our team of social welfare assistants at the Student Health Service (Service de Santé Étudiante) are available to support you with any social concerns in a confidential setting.

They can help you find the most suitable solutions to your needs and contribute to your wellbeing as regards:

  • family or personal issues (divorce, breakups, independence, etc.)
  • finances (housing, food, internships, etc.)
  • administrative formalities (grants, health insurance, family benefits, etc.)
  • accommodation
  • mental health, when it is affecting your overall wellbeing

If you wish, they can refer you to a medical team they work closely with. There is the SPE / Santé Psy Étudiant scheme in particular which exempts you from upfront payment for counselling sessions.

Other social welfare schemes that can help include:

  • the University’s CASE (Student Social Welfare Committee), which examines applications for fee exemptions (the Registry Services of your department or faculty will give you the application if you are eligible) and can grant financial assistance.
  • The Regional Centre for Student Affairs (CROUS) can allocate different types of financial assistance.
  • The Agoraés are social & solidarity grocery stores
