Studies & entrepreneurship

Established in 2011, the Lorraine Student Entrepreneurship Centre (PeeL) seeks to develop a thriving entrepreneurial culture at Université de Lorraine. It does this through awareness-raising, training and support measures. More than 2,300 student entrepreneurs have been supported since it opened. In 2020/2021, with 504 student entrepreneurs, Université de Lorraine topped the rankings as the most enterprising university in France for the fourth year running!

The PeeL training programme gives students an initial experience of entrepreneurship. Through courses, events and competitions, you can work on a business plan outline, with no requirement of bringing it actually to fruition. The aim is to show that different paths to business formation exist, and that starting up your own business is quite possible. Some students decide not to take their business idea any further, while others manage to successfully start up their business venture. Whatever stage you reach, the experience you gain through PeeL will stand you in good stead: equipping you with extensive skills and enabling you to build a professional network and get to grips with the challenges of developing a viable business plan.
