Careers guidance

A key concern for Université de Lorraine

Careers guidance is a top priority driving Université de Lorraine’s agenda, which is firmly geared towards helping our students secure a fulfilling future (studies, changing course, personal aspirations and career planning).

We have a team of 30 or so dedicated staff working at the SOIP (Careers Service). Based on three campuses, its offices are open to all students, whether for enquiries, one-to-one careers advice appointments or to look through our specialised resources. The SOIP also organises events and workshops to help you improve your employability and firm up your plans.

Throughout your studies, teaching staff will make specific modules available to encourage you to define and work towards your personal and career goals.

Making the transition from school to university

Mindful that the groundwork for a successful higher education is laid from secondary school, Université de Lorraine makes a key contribution to helping students transition to university. We organise a wide variety of initiatives (forums, open days, etc.) to help you in your subject choices and give you an in-depth insight into what student life will be like.

Investing in flagship projects

Université de Lorraine goes the extra mile: by investing in such meaningful projects as Ailes, the CEI for educational & digital transformation, CEI for Humanities & Social Sciences / Arts, Literature & Languages, we have our sights constantly set on innovating and improving our action and practices.

Relying on partnerships

We also conduct a partnership strategy with public institutions (local education authorities, universities, Regional Directorate for Food, Agiculture and Forestry/DRAAF, Grand Est Region, local authorities, the public employment service/Pôle emploi, regional centre for student affairs/CROUS, etc.), businesses, consular organisations, associations and so on.

From the start of your high school studies all the way through to your PhD, Université de Lorraine is wholeheartedly committed to helping each and every student fulfil their potential – today and in the future!
